There’s magic in the mess.
I work with people and organizations navigating change, complexity, and difference—and help them build the collective capacity to stay in the room together.
- Not to tidy things up too quickly.
- Not to rush toward false clarity.
- But to sit with what’s real long enough for something honest, humane, and durable to emerge.
In a world of uncertainty, polarization, and accelerating change, this might be some of the most important work we can do.
What I stand for
The messy middle isn’t a failure of leadership—it’s where transformation actually happens.
Resilience is relational, not individual. We don’t “power through” change alone; we learn how to hold it together.
As Peter Block reminds us, small groups are the unit of transformation. Real shifts happen in rooms, circles, and conversations where people feel seen enough to tell the truth.
And in an age of AI, automation, and abstraction, being together—thinking, feeling, and making meaning in real time—is a profound competitive advantage.
The throughline of my work: helping people stay with what’s real long enough for something meaningful to emerge.
How I work
People call it facilitation, consulting, or strategy. Accurate—but incomplete.
What I actually do is pay attention.
To what’s being said, and to what’s sitting just beneath the surface. To patterns, tensions, and quiet signals that show where a group is stuck—and where movement is possible.
I pay particular attention to:
go on — move them around
- the space between people
- the language we use, and how it opens or closes connection
- subtle shifts in understanding as people think out loud
- what happens just before a group arrives, and what lingers when they leave
That’s not accidental. It’s the work.
This work is for connectors—people holding responsibility for others, often quietly, and navigating complexity without easy answers.
If you care about how we are together—not just what we produce—you are likely in the right place.
Work with me
I work with organizations, teams, and communities navigating complexity—when decisions feel stuck, conversations keep circling, and the stakes are higher than they first appear.
- facilitated sessions, engagement & strategic planning through Tilia Consulting
- custom workshops and leadership development
- keynote speaking
- writing, tools, and thought leadership
If you’re trying to move something forward—without oversimplifying it—I’d be glad to connect.
An invitation
If this resonates, you’ll find your way to the work—through a room, a keynote, a piece of writing, or a conversation that arrives at the right moment.
